Directions: Sledding hill in the town of Beech Mountain on the main road (Hwy 184) from Banner Elk next to the police station.

Comments: The property is owned by the city and is for children 12 and under only, but adults can sled with the children. There is parking across the street and public restrooms. The hill is less than a mile from the ski resort. They make snow for the sledding hill when there is none. The hill is supervised and the rules are enforced. There is a pretty good pizzeria across the street. Best of all, the sledding is FREE!

County: Mecklenburg City: Charlotte Property: Public Park Permission: Yes
Designated Sledding Area: No Turf: Grass Texture: Smooth & Bumpy Crowds: Some
Slope: ~30 degrees Length: 400-500 ft. Easily Accessible: Yes Nearby Parking: Yes
Hazards/Obstructions: None Video: None Photo: None Submitted By: Jenn Holladay, 2-25-2015
Directions: Cordelia Park is located at the corner of North Davidson st and Parkwood Dr.

Comments: There is parking available within the park, and along residential streets nearby. The two large hills are a bit steep, one is next to the swimming pool, and the other is closer to the large power line tower (far away from where sleds can reach,) and walking back up then is a bit taxing, so I suggest a parent riding with children under the age of 10.
